ECD Woman Empowerment Project

Education as a Means of Empowerment: The ECD Woman Empowerment Project

We are thrilled to introduce the ECD Woman Empowerment Project, a program designed to transform the lives of unemployed women through Early Childhood Development (ECD) training and development opportunities of the highest caliber. This 12-month project, supported by  the Department of Education, aims to empower women, equip them with valuable skills, and improve their employability.

SDS Sustainability Projects, Ladies of Hope, and ENJO Consultants are collaborating on the ECD Woman Empowerment Project.

As the lead partner, SDS Sustainability Projects is responsible for the overall project management, ensuring efficient coordination and execution. Non-profit organization Ladies of Hope actively contributes to project management and oversees specific delivery areas. ENJO Consultants, an accredited training provider, plays a crucial role in delivering accredited ECD training, evaluations, and certifications.

The primary objective of the ECD Woman Empowerment Project is to empower unemployed women to pursue rewarding careers in early childhood development by providing them with comprehensive and accredited ECD training.

By providing these women with the necessary skills and credentials, we hope to elevate and empower them to become agents of change in their communities, thereby fostering the growth and development of our nation’s future generation.

Impact on Women’s Empowerment and Combating Unemployment: The ECD Woman Empowerment Project offers unemployed women a brighter future.

Through specialized training and skill development, women will gain the confidence and knowledge necessary to enter the workforce and make significant contributions to society. By addressing the shortage of qualified Early Childhood Development practitioners, the project actively supports the growth and improvement of early childhood education, thereby laying a solid foundation for the future of children.

Each partner plays a vital role in the success of this transformative endeavor: SDS Sustainability Projects: As the lead partner, SDS Sustainability Projects assumes general project management responsibilities and ensures that all facets of the initiative operate smoothly. We lead the recruitment of candidates, supervise the management of training staff and field workers, and coordinate the placement of candidates for practical training in suitable workplaces. In addition, we provide candidates and employers with ongoing support and assistance throughout the training period. Our quarterly feedback reports inform sponsors of the project’s advancement, successes, and challenges.

ENJO Consultants: As an accredited training provider, ENJO Consultants designs and delivers accredited ECD training programs of the highest quality. Their expert trainers conduct candidate evaluations and verify assessment results to ensure consistency and fairness. Upon successful completion of the training program, it is the responsibility of ENJO Consultants to issue official certificates to candidates. In addition, they play a crucial role in the planning and execution of the commencement ceremony.

Ladies of Hope: Ladies of Hope actively supports the project through close collaboration with SDS Sustainability Projects and ENJO Consultants to ensure effective project management. They play a crucial role in particular project delivery areas, ensuring smooth implementation and adherence to project objectives. In addition to assisting with candidate recruitment, Ladies of Hope contributes valuable insights through quarterly feedback reports.

Ladies of Hope is A Non-Profit organisation based in Ennerdale, South of Johannesburg. The charity was established by the Founder and Director Myrtle Williams in the early 2000’s. A small group of interdenominational ladies went around from house to house praying for the sick and the elderly. The organisation has grown in numbers and our volunteers are offering their time and energy to make a positive difference in our community. Due to the nature of our work, one of our priorities is to eventually become self-sustaining. This will allow us in turn to give more back to our community than before. We see ourselves as a beacon of hope and our aim is to have a long-lasting impact in our community and hopefully nationwide. Our mission is to reach many more disadvantage and under-privileged people in various communities. Let’s win back our communities for the sake of our children’s future.
